Flashbacks are incredibly handy for finishing up albums, since they retrieve a random missing snippet from the current album for you. Depending on the type of Flashback, you can earn a random new snippet of any tier or a new tier-specific snippet.
How do Flashbacks work?
The best part about having a Flashback is that it does all the work! Whenever you acquire a Flashback from the shop, it is automatically used right there and then.
From here simply tap to reveal, and the Flashback will retrieve a random missing snippet from your current album!
If you’ve earned a Flashback outside of the Déjà Vu Shop or Pack Shop, it is automatically used the next time you open the album screen.
What are Universal Flashbacks?
Universal Flashbacks reward a random missing snippet of any rarity. It can be a new 1-Star, 3-Star, or even 5-Star snippet!
What are Star Flashbacks?
Star Flashbacks come in different tiers, and the Stars on the Flashback show the rarity the new snippet will have. For example, a 2-Star Flashback will reward a new 2-Star snippet, and a 4-Star Flashback will reward a new 4-Star snippet.
Star Flashbacks offer a higher level of control and flexibility, which means you’re more likely to get the snippet you’re missing to complete a picture!
What happens if I use a Star Flashback but already have all the snippets in that tier?
If, for example, you obtain a 4-Star Flashback but already own all 4-Star snippets, don’t worry! You will be rewarded with a 4-Star pack as compensation instead. If you’re lucky, this pack might even contain a better snippet for you!
Where do I get Flashbacks?
These little blasts from the past are both helpful and rare. There are a few ways you can acquire them. Keep your eyes peeled for sales and offers that contain Flashbacks, or purchase them from various stores like the Pack Shop and Déjà Vu Shop.
Flashbacks may even appear as rewards in various events, so be sure to participate and take a walk down memory lane, Detectives!
What happens to leftover Flashbacks?
Flashbacks are only usable while an album is active or during its cooldown period, so make use of them while you can! If you haven’t completed the Encore album, your remaining Flashbacks can be used for the Encore after you watch the introduction story.
If you haven't used all your Flashbacks by the end of the cooldown period, they will be factored into the compensation reward that you will get for remaining packs, Déjà Vu tokens, and Companion Reminders.
